Amy and Aleks

Our good friends were married in a romantic, winter wonderland setting in December. Everything was glittery and refined...a truly memorable event! This cake was designed by the beatiful bride, and her lovely daughter, with some help from me. The entire confection was covered in creamy fondant and decorated with icey blue flowers and leaves. I then brushed royal icing on the flowers to give them an icey, just snowed on appearance. The bride added white fresh flowers with seasonal greenery at the venue, but I unfortunately did not bring along my camera. Inside was lemon cake with lemon curd buttercream and chocolate and vanilla cake with alternating layers of oreos and cream buttercream and whipped chocolate ganache. Congratulations Amy and Aleks.

Gingerbread House Cake

My eldest daughter turned 6 right before Christmas. We had a gingerbread themed birthday party where her friends put on Christmas aprons and chef hats and decorated their own cookies to take home. They later decorated a cake that they devoured! Later in the evening, we had a "family' birthday party, where this cake was served. All decorations are fondant. Inside was frecked chocolate orange cake with orange scented buttercream.

Poodles in Paris

I LOVE this theme! A little girl celebrated her first birthday in style!!! This design borrows heavily from pink cake box. All decorations are handmade from fondant. Inside was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream.

Motorcycle Birthday Cake

I made this cake for a little guy who loves motorcycles. The banana and nutella cake was covered in fondant and hand made fondant decorations.

Halloween Cupcakes

My daughters' school held a Halloween party and these cupcakes were my contribution.

Halloween Cookies

I'm catching up on blogging! These were created to be given as take away treats for the guests of a Halloween themed birthday party. They are all decorated with royal icing and accented with edible markers and sanding sugar.

Autumn Wedding Cake

This was such a fun cake to make! The leaves in our area have turned lovely shades of colours, and this cake captures some of them. The rich colours of the cake, were highlighted by the reception setting. There was a huge backdrop of lovely autumn leaves! The bottom tier of this cake was chocolate cake with vanilla oreos 'n cream buttercream, the middle tier, vanilla with vanilla buttercream and the top tier was red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. It must have made for a dramatic cutting! All decorations, leaves, acorns, cording were edible.
